My new Look Portfolio at the AOI

The Association Of Illustrators has give it's website (which I have a portfolio in) a complete overhaul.

At the moment i'm in the process of completing a new series of images, "Marrakech" which I'll put up for viewing as soon as they're done.

My Latest book is now out "The Pirates on Holiday"

Second one in the Pirates series. This time they go on a holiday to "Windy View caravan park"!

This is the 3rd in the series of Ribburta the short legged frog and her amazing adventures. Always fun.

My illustrations published in Ladybug magazine this month

It's a short story about a boy who likes to escape from boring situations with his vivid imagination. I can relate to this!

Publication in Cricket magazine this month called Nasreddin Hoca

This image was worked up entirely digitally from sketch to final artwork. I think I'd like to find a slightly better compromise though, where the line drawing is in ink and the colour is added later digitally. That way I don't lose too much of the scratchy spontaneous line

The Secret London exhibition

The Secret London exhibition opens next week with my work in there. 13thNov - 10th Dec in the London Transport museum. Think you have to pay the entry fee to the museum to get to see the illustrations £13.50

Second prize in Mezzano Art competition

Managed to get a second prize yesterday, in a competition which I found very enjoyable. I had 8 hours to complete a piece of work that represented Mezzano (near Ravenna). So I was out in the square with my easel and paints with the clock ticking. Was good to have that kind of deadline not to much time to stand back and think a lot more instinctive. Chose the Church as it was the  in the centre and there was a lot of movement people cars etc, my kind of thing.

The Photo of the painting isn't too good as I had to use a little Pentax instamatic with flash (My Nikon is broken!)

Winner of the Longastrino art competition

The Longastrino art competition's subject was the delta Del Po (river) it's traditions and people. So I chose to do the Cervia Salt farm. An evening with movement and rich colours.

Chosen again this years for Best of British Illustration 2012 "AOI Images 36"

AOI IMAGES 36. Was chosen for an editorial piece I did for Il Sole 24 Ore Last year. The exhibition is in the Terrace Rooms at Somerset House, London from 3 – 28 October 2012, and the catalogue is out on the same day.
